A notebook has no opinion about what should happen next. It does not sort an idea, rank it, or ask you to share it. A page is simply a place to begin.
Thinking in the margins
Handwritten notes are allowed to be unfinished. A diagram can meet a sentence, a question can sit beside a shopping list, and an idea can wait without an alert.
A blank page is one of the few places that asks nothing of you.
Keep a little mess

The notebook does not have to replace anything. It can simply be another way to pay attention.
